Purely coincidentally, Seduction appears to have put out 3 releases all featuring the delectable Miss Jennifer Chubb, so we thought we’d give you a chance to enjoy them all, and for only £6.00 too. For this headspinning bargain price you will get the debut EP from Cocean, the newest release on Seduction, which I don’t think it is an overestimation to say is one of the most beautiful records of the year. For fans of Appleseed Cast, Mogwai, Sigur Ros, Explosions in the Sky etc., this is a finely tuned, elegantly recorded CD, with choruses so big you could park a bus in them. Featuring members of noise-core lunatics Errander too, this is a record to cherish – this lot could well be huge very soon. Also included in the deal is Jenn’s split CD with sex dwarf tunesmith Paul Marshall, under her other guise as Tascam Tapes. This is soulful, plaintive acoustic sonwriting, allowing Jenn’s voice to shine over the top of delicate arrangements and rolling accompaniment from both Paul Yeadon (Bivouac, The Wireless Stores) and yours truly. Finally, there is, subject to availability as there are limited numbers left, the debut, and indeed only CD from Leeds’ tuneful pop-rockers The Minor Fall, who Jenn used to sing for. Also featuring members of UK hardcore luminaries D-rail and zombie thrash pioneers Send More Paramedics, this is a real heart-on-sleeve, foot-to-the-floor passionate stomp of a record, with alternating male/female vocals, and songs that jump from swaying post-hardcore twinkle to guitar-hurling emo-rock at the blink of an eye.
